MINUTES OF THE MEETING

HELD 21st October 2021

There were no public matters to discuss.

 

47           APOLOGIES

                Apologies and valid reasons for absence were received from Cllr Eyre and newly co-opted Cllr      Cook.  These were accepted.

48           DECLARATIONS

                There were none.

49           MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 16TH SEPTEMBER 2021

                It was resolved that the Chairman sign the minutes as a correct record.

50           UPDATE

  • Faded signs Sloothby – one set had been done, those towards Willoughby not been done.
  • Clerk had e mailed school to ask them to put item in any newsletter to ask parents not to park on village green.
  • Barriers at Sloothby – Reported through Fix My Street – comeback was “No Further Action”.  Clerk asked Cllr Davey to look into this, now Highways Manager has raised a request for repair work to damaged verge and removal of barriers.

51           ELDC/LCC UPDATES       

                There were none

52           FINANCE

                a)  Accounts for payment – It was resolved that the following accounts be paid by BACS:

                                Clerks salary & PAYE (October)                                  £156.25

                                Welton Garden Services (September)                     £480.00

                b) Income/Expenditure to 30th September – this was noted

53           ALLOTMENTS/PLAYING FIELD

                a)  Fence – Clerk had obtained 3 quotes –

                3’ high picket fence & gate                           £3850    £4089    £2600

                4’ high picket fence & gate                           £4025    £4554    £2825

                Original quote for 1.8m V mesh fence and gate                   £4110

                Original quote for 1.8m bow top fence and gate                 £10420

                After discussion is was resolved to defer the fence issue until January when the Council would be in a better position to review finances after costs involved in removal of play equipment.  To investigate possibility of grant aid for new equipment.

                b) It was agreed that councillors would meet on site on 31st (weather permitting) with appropriate equipment and remove those play items earmarked for removal by Wicksteed inspection.

                c) There were no further matters raised.

54           CORRESPONDENCE

  • Email from person doing research into natural springs enquiring about origins of name of springwell “Mabs Hole” – believed to be an old Saxon name; enquiries had not revealed anything further.
  • Lets Talk Lincolnshire – platform for public to discuss matters of interest.

55           PLANNING

                There were no applications.

                Decision – N208/1682/21 – Extension The Elms – conditionally approved (to be in accordance with plans)

56           ANY OTHER MATTERS/NEXT AGENDA

                Cllr Hales had been approached by residents concerned at the hedge on the boundary of the playing fields in the area adjoining John Smith Close. It was agreed he would speak to Cllr Eyre and then to hedge cutting contractor.

57           DATE OF NEXT MEETING

                This was agreed as 18th November 2021 at 8pm
