Merry Christmas

Willoughby & District Parish Council wishes all its residents a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2025

Welcome to Willoughby District

Willoughby & District Parish Council covers the parishes of Willoughby, Sloothby and Claxby St Andrews.  It meets monthly (apart from August and December) in the Village Hall on the third Thursday of the month at 8pm.  There is always opportunity for members of the public to attend and to have their say.

The Parish Council oversees the Village Green, a central green space in the village left to the parish many years ago to be retained as a village green.  Lime trees grow along the edge with the road and picnic tables and benches adorn the area.  The Council also oversees the allotments and the adjacent playing field is owned by the Parish Council, which has just taken back management of it.  The Council also contributes towards the maintenance of the churchyard at St Helena's Church in Willoughby, and shares a speed indicator device with neighbouring Welton le Marsh Parish Council.

Vacancy

Willoughby with Sloothby Parish Council now has two vacancies.    Statutory noties willbe displayed asking if ten or more electors would like to call an election to fill the recent vacancy.  If no such call is made, the Returning Officer will instruct the Parish Council to fill that vacancy by co-option.  The Parish Council is already looking to co-op to fill the original vacancy.

The Parish Council is responsible for the playground and equipment; playing field itself; allotments; village green and is a statutory consultee for various matters including planning applications.
