Good News - The Parish Council has recently commissioned and had installed a new defibrillator in the phone box in Sloothby, and supported the efforts of the proprietors of the Willoughby Arms and their customers in raising funds to have a new defibrillator and cabinet fitted at the Willoughby Arms.
The defibrillator outside the school is no longer in operation.
Willoughby & District Parish Council covers the parishes of Willoughby, Sloothby and Claxby St Andrews. It meets monthly (apart from August and December) in the Village Hall on the third Thursday of the month at 8pm. There is always opportunity for members of the public to attend and to have their say.
The Parish Council oversees the Village Green, a central green space in the village left to the parish many years ago to be retained as a village green. Lime trees grow along the edge with the road and picnic tables and benches adorn the area. The Council also oversees the allotments and the adjacent playing field is owned by the Parish Council, which has just taken back management of it. The Council also contributes towards the maintenance of the churchyard at St Helena's Church in Willoughby, and shares a speed indicator device with neighbouring Welton le Marsh Parish Council.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be at 8pm on Thursday 17th September 2026, there being no meeting in August.
