MINUTES OF THE

ORDINARY  COUNCIL MEETING

HELD 15th January 2026

Present: Cllrs Eyre, Mulhearn,   Cooper, Fairfield, Banham, Hale,  Rapoz and White

During the public session a request was made for the Council to look at a dog bin at the entrance to Hoplands Wood.  Clerk to contact ELDC.

90          APOLOGIES

                Cllr Jenkinson’s apologies were put in for her absence.

91          DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

                There were none

92          MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 20TH NOVEMBER 2025

                It was resolved that the Chairman sign these as a correct record of that meeting.

93          UPDATES FROM THE MEETING AND RESPONSE REGARDING FIREWORKS.

                Clerk had circulated to Members the response from the Event organisers and these were noted.  A member of the pubic still had concerns at the proximity to dwellings, and other concerns relating to first aid and clearing away afterwards were raised.  It was agreed to ask a representative of the Events Committee to a meeting when these could be answered properly.

94          UPDATES ELDC/LCC

                Cllr Eyre had no updates other than advising on the proposed reorganisation of Local Government which would effectively split the county in two east – west.

                There was no LCC representation.

95          FINANCE

                a)           Accounts for payment:

                It was resolved that the following accounts be paid:

                Clerks salary and PAYE (Dec/Jan)                                                     £361.66

                b)           Income/expenditure April – Dec

                This was noted.

96          VILLAGE MATTERS

                a)  Playing Fields – nothing to report, agreed to wait until spring when ground conditions improved to carry out the minor works to equipment.

                b)  Village Green – The Council had declared its interest in having a gap made in the hedge to allow the grass on the bowling green to be cut when the village green is done.  Cllr White advised that the boundary of the bowling green/Village Hall was the edge of the bowling green nearest the hall.

                c)  Allotments

                Clerk advised that the tenant to 11a had moved, but still wanted to keep his allotment for this coming year.  When notice was given Council to consider re-letting to next on waiting list.

97          CORRESPONDENCE

                Clerks/Council direct – circulated

 

 

98          ROADSIDE PARKING

                Still an issue with the taxi parking on the highway.  Platform Housing had given Clerk an update – vehicles on the highway to be removed.  It was noted there were no vehicles parked on the bridleway entrance.

99          PLANNING

                Ex RAF site Claxby – application 3313/25 had been amended to remove reference to the helicopter.  The storage shed had been approved – to be in accordance with amended plans, painted grey and scheme of landscaping and planting to be agreed.

                Woodlands, Mawthorpe – 2932/25 – Erection of shed.  Approved – to be in accordance with plans and for private use only.

100       ANY OTHER MATTERS

                Clerk to chase regarding the new positions for the speed device, and the no parking bar across the entrance to the bridleway.

101       DATE OF NEXT MEETING

                This was confirmed as 19th February 2026.

102       CLOSED SESSION

                It was resolved that the Council move into Closed Session to discuss the following confidential item.

103       LAND OWNERSHIP

                Matters discussed under Pink Paper were agreed.

 

There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.50pm
