MINUTES OF THE
ORDINARY COUNCIL MEETING
HELD 19TH JUNE 2025
Present: Cllrs Eyre, Mulhern, Banham, White, Hales; Cooper & Rapoz (at minute 22)

21 APOLOGIES
Apologies and valid reasons for absence were received from Cllr Fairfield and these were accepted.
22 CO-OPTION
It was proposed (Cllr Banham), seconded (Cllr Cooper) and resolved that Giuliano Rapoz be co-opted onto the Council. He joined the meeting and signed his Declaration of Acceptance of Office which was counter signed by the Clerk.
23 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
There were none
24 MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 15TH MAY 2025
It was resolved these be signed by the Chairman as a correct record of that meeting.
25 UPDATES
Minutes 19 – Ex Radar Station – The Clerk read out e mail from ELDC to advise that, as the hedge in question did not form part of the application site there was little the Enforcement Team could do, however they were hoping by negotiation to come to an agreement. The caravan on site was there as a temporary measure only.
26 PILLBOX
Historic England would not be listing the pill box as it did not meet the criteria required:
- Not currently under threat as evidenced by any live planning application
- Not within their Strategic Priority
- No strong enough potential for inclusion
It was agreed to continue to monitor this, and to look at applying for other pillboxes in the parish to be considered. Cllr Eyre agreed to speak to the Conservation Team at ELDC for further advice.
28 ELDC/LCC UPDATE
There was no member present from LCC. Cllr Eyre (ELDC) had no updates other than some grant money available for village halls.
29 FINANCE
It was resolved that the following accounts be paid:
Clerks salary & PYE (June) £180.83
LALC Subs £188.56
Grounds (July) £438.57
30 VILLAGE MATTERS
a) Playing Fields – no updates
b) Village Green – to ask contractor to trim back the first lime tree to allow better visibility from Church Lane.
c) Allotments – Clerk had re-let Plot 17.
31 CORRESPONDENCE
There was none
32 CHRISTMAS TREE
After studying photos of the site and position of the tree it was agreed not to pursue this due to difficulties in extracting the tree, re-planting and future maintenance. The offer was appreciated however.
33 PLANNING
There were no applications, however the consultation for the Grimsby – Walpole pylons route was noted.
34 ANY OTHER MATTERS/ITEMS NEXT AGENDA
Thanks to Cllr Eyre for clearing away dangerous bonfire.
Next Agenda:
Vehicles parked on bridleway/abandoned vehicles on Station Road.
Speed device.
