ORDINARY COUNCIL MEETING
HELD 21st April 2026

During the public session it was noted that the litter bin on Station Road had been removed, Clerk to ask ELDC. Concern was raised at a recent letter received from National Grid regarding routes for overhead line work in Sloothby and raising concerns that not all nearby residents had been informed and the location of drainage pipes under the proposed access road, Clerk to contact National Grid for more information.
It was noted that the trees on the edge of the green were catching large lorries, to be monitored.
132 APOLOGIES
Apologies and valid reasons for absence were received from Cllr Fairfield and these were accepted. (Note Cllr Jenkinson emailed after the meeting).

There were none.

135 UPDATES
Minute 126 – Grit bin installed in Sloothby
Minute 127 – Clerk advised school to apply for safety zone if they wished.
136 REPORTS OUTSIDE BODIES
Cllr Eyre (ELDC) had nothing to report
Cllr Brooks (LCC) gave a brief update on the Local Government Reorganisation – it would appear the Government is leaning towards the proposal put forward by Lincoln City Council and not those of ELDC/LCC. Food waste caddies to be rolled out in ELDC area in October/November. Delays on the Government’s planned roll out due to ned for council’s to purchase new vehicles to separate the waste from these caddies. LCC looking at Judicial Review on recent large solar farm approved in Lincolnshire.
137 FINANCIAL
a) Accounts for payment:
Clerks salary & PAYE (April) £186.58
Clerks expenses (1/4/25 – 31/3/26) £178.24
LALC subs £203.08
It was resolved that these be paid.
b) Income/Expenditure 1/4/25 – 31/3/26 – this was noted.
c) Expenditure against budget heads 1/4/25 – 31/3/26 – noted.
138 VILLAGE MATTERS
a) Playing fields:
Hope to carry out any repairs to equipment in May.
b) Village Green:
No updates
c) Allotments:
Invoices have been sent out.
d) Use of Bowling Green for Fete:
The Parish Council was not in a position to grant its use at present.
139 CORRESPONDENCE
ElanCity – new Solar powered SID devices. Noted, but not able to commit at this time.
140 PLANNING
393/26 Spring Farm – change use part land to domestic use. Parish Council support.
Decision – 231/26 Extension at Harmony Sloothby – conditionally approved – to be in accordance with plans, and contamination on site to be reported to LPA.
141 SPEAKERS AT PUBLIC MEETING
Cllr Brooks unable to attend on 7th, Clerk trying to get someone from LCC Waste to come.
142 ANY OTHER MATTERS
The bar marker has been painted on the road at the entrance to the bridleway.
